    Architectural Technician

    Job summary:

    To provide architectural services for specific projects and to help guide the practice in its high quality Interior and Architectural Design. Keep the practice informed of current building regulations and potential changes as well as understanding the implications of sustainability legislation/directives on projects. Running projects from start to completion, including preparing comprehensive technical drawing packages, renders and budgets. 

    Duties and responsibilities:

    • Job running
    • Client liaison
    • Contractor liaison
    • Time planning
    • Budget control
    • Product specification and ordering
    • Overseeing construction/implementation
    • Provide technical drawings in CAD
    • Provide technical information and research
    • Use the practice time management system for project tracking
    • Prepare monthly project summaries – narrative, technical, budget
    • Keep the practice staff up to speed on changes toUK building regulations
    • Site supervision and contract management

    Knowledge, skills & attributes:

    • 1-2  years + experience post RIBA Part I
    • Strong technical skills on both practical and design aspects
    • CAD, Photoshop, InDesign and Microsoft office
    • Commercial understanding of the practice and the drive to profitability
    • Ability to work closely with contractors to ensure efficient implementation
